Excavation at a gold-mining operation. Marsman & Co. began gold mining in Baguio in the 1920s and in 1933 initiated a large-scale mining development project in the Paracale-Mamburao area in Bicol Region known for gold mining history, and Mamburao, the capital of Occidental Mindoro, a coastal town known for its port and river.
